Angels Draft Bulldogs Star in 1st Round

(KMJ)  Taylor Ward is about to become a very rich young man.

The Bulldogs star catcher was selected in the first round of the MLB draft Monday by the LA Angels.

The two-time All-Mountain West player was taken 26th overall in the First-Year Player Draft.  Ward is the 13th first-round pick out of Fresno State, and first since Aaron Judge was selected 32nd overall by the Yankees in 2013.

“More than even being drafted, seeing that they wanted me, that’s my complete motivation from here on out,” Ward said in a release issued by Fresno State.
