(KMJ) – The Fresno County Coroner has released the toxicology results for 19-year old Dylan Noble. He’s the Clovis teen shot and killed by Fresno Police on June 25th after a traffic stop at Shields and Armstrong.
The results show Noble had a blood alcohol level of 0.12 and had traces of benzoylecgonine – which is a primary component of cocaine – in his system.
Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims told KMJ’s Broeske & Musson someone in her department leaked the toxicology information to a local television station, without permission. Mims did not identify the person who released the information. “It happened as it happened and we’ll deal with it”.
Allegations were made by an attorney representing the Noble family that the toxicology results were leaked to the media in order to smear the young man. “The report is the report, the facts are the facts, I think he’s (Attorney Warren Paboojian) disputing the timing,” Mims responded. “This is an independent medical report”.
“It did cause me some consternation, especially for the PIO too. It did cause me some heartache last night, but I’ll deal with it,” Mims continued referring to the leaked report.
A synopsis of the autopsy was released by FCSD shortly after Mims’ interview on KMJ.
Autopsy Report: Noble’s manner of death has been ruled a homicide. His cause of death is listed as injuries to the following: Large and small intestines, mesentery, right lung, liver and right kidney due to multiple gunshot and shotgun wounds.
The autopsy report is an independent investigation dealing with the cause and manner of death. It will be used by other agencies as a part of their investigation, which include the Fresno Police Department, FBI and Fresno County District Attorney’s Office. The Fresno County Sheriff’s
Office will not offer any interpretation of what the autopsy results mean or may mean as the result of other information released by other agencies.
“I’m not going to feed the machine of the speculators”, Mims said when asked of her opinion of the deadly incident.
Stuart Chandler, attorney for Noble’s Mother Veronica Nelson also discussed the results with KMJ’s Chris Daniel Show Wednesday afternoon.
Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer has said officers had no way of knowing Noble was unarmed because he refused to cooperate. Noble refused to obey approximately 30 orders by officers to show his hands or he would be shot. Each of Noble’s parents has filed a claim seeking payment from the city for their son’s death.
