FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — We now know what sparked the massive wildfire in Monterey County.
Cal Fire announced Tuesday afternoon that the Soberanes Fire, which broke out near Big Sur, was caused by an illegal campfire.
The blaze has grown to 43,400 acres, and is only 18 percent contained.
