Fresno Police Catch Tower District Robbery Suspects

FRESNO (KMJ) – Fresno Police catch three people accused of armed robbery in the Tower District.

On August 2, 2016, just after midnight, police say a man’s wallet and cell phone was stolen at the corner of Wishon and Fern Avenues.

The victim told police the three black males pointed a gun at him before taking his smart phone and wallet containing credit cards.

After robbing the victim, the suspects jumped into a black four-door sedan and left northbound Wishon Avenue, driving the wrong way against traffic.

Officers spotted the sedan near Wishon and Cambridge Avenues, where they conducted a high risk traffic stop.

Police arrested two adults and a juvenile, and recovered the victim’s phone, a handgun hidden in a door panel and ammunition.

18 year old Micah Smith, 19 year old Marcus Newton, both of Fresno and one male juvenile suspect were arrested.

The fourth suspect detained, also a juvenile, was later released.
