False Report Sends Fresno SWAT to Sanger Restaurant

Victoriano Hernandez

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man that made a false call that brought out the SWAT team to a Sanger restaurant on Monday evening.

50-year-old Victoriano Hernandez was arrested for filing a false police report and for possession of drug paraphernalia – which was an outstanding narcotics warrant.

At about 6:00 pm Monday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received a call from a man who said his wife was messaging him that three armed men were robbing the Schoolhouse Restaurant and Tavern in Sanger.  A perimeter was set up — and the SWAT team was called in — but after searching found nothing.

Turns out, it was a hoax.

The sheriff’s office says Hernandez has a history of making false police reports and that his ex-wife has an active restraining order against him.
