Fresno City Water Operations Chief Placed on Leave

water pipesFRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The City of Fresno has placed Water Operations Chief Kenneth Heard on administrative leave, amid an investigation into problems with reporting water issues.

Residents in northeast Fresno have been complaining about discolored water for decades.

The city has recently blamed the issue on indoor plumbing.

In a statement, it says investigators will try to determine “where the system of notification broke down.”

According to Heard’s LinkedIn profile, he’s been the chief of water operations since September of 2009.
