(KMJ) – Fresno County Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives say a Selma man used his car to rundown and kill the boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend.
Detectives say 31-year old Saul Mendoza (pictured above) deliberately struck the man as he was getting out of a vehicle shortly after midnight at Nebraska and De Wolf Avenues in Selma. Mendoza’s ex was inside the car during the accident. Mendoza then sped away. But Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims says it remains unclear if Mendoza had been following the pair or spotted them as he was driving by.
The victim, who died at the scene, has been identified as 38-year old Sigifredo Gomez of Hanford (pictured below).
Mendoza was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail. His bail has been set at one million dollars.
