FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The California Senate is preparing to hand over the appointment books and calendars of former lawmakers Leland Yee and Ron Calderon.
This, after the Bay Area News Group and Los Angeles News Groups sued the legislature, for denying them access to the records amid corruption investigations.
Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Michael Kenny has issued a ruling demanding that they be released, saying the public’s interest outweighs that of the senate.
Yee and Calderon were suspended last year, after their offices were raided by the FBI.
Both have pleaded not guilty to federal corruption charges.
