FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — If the revenue is used for improvements in transportation, most Americans say they’re willing to pay higher taxes on gasoline.
The San Jose State Mineta Transportation Institute’s 7th annual survey finds that depending on how a gas tax is outlined, a majority are in favor of paying more to increase safety, fund maintenance, and help the environment.
However, there remains strong opposition to a mileage tax, something which the State of California is considering.
