Blaze Burning Near Soledad Continues to Grow

SOLEDAD FIRE

(KMJ) – Cal Fire says a wildfire burning in a rural and largely agricultural section of the Central Coast has grown to over six square miles.

the blaze is burning near Soledad in Monterey County between the Salinas River and Pinnacles National Park. Cal Fire says it is only 20 percent contained.

The blaze broke out at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday and had burned just 800 acres in its first two hours. But, thanks to strong winds, surged to nearly 4,000 acres

There are no reports of any injuries or any homes or other structures being threatened.
