FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — CEO pay at S&P 500 companies was 335 times that of rank-and-file workers last year.
According to the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, the average production worker earned less than $37,000 last year.
Meanwhile, CEOs averaged $12.4 million.
That’s compared to $36,000 for the rank-and-file, and $13.5 million for CEOs, in 2014.
Extreme executive compensation levels have drawn criticism from many politicians and candidates, including Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump.
