FRESNO (KMJ) – 2.5 million is how much the District will spend….as Fresno Unified redesigns its master plan for English Learners.
Over the last six months, district leaders, teachers, parents, principals and community members crafted the plan.
It will outline how the district will improve its existing efforts and allocate funds for students who are English learners.
Some of the recommendations outlined in the Master Plan Redesign include:
• Adding teachers to expand Hmong courses at all high schools
• Expanding after school programs and interventions, including tutoring
• Increasing our investment in Dual Immersion programs as we plan for future expansion
• Increasing the number of summer school opportunities for EL students
On Wednesday night, the board was to vote on the funding, and the plan will be made available online by Summer.
