FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — April revenues were nearly $1.2 billion less than anticipated, in Gov. Jerry Brown’s budget proposal.
Personal income tax revenues were more than 8 percent short, with sales and use tax revenue lagging by more than 6 percent.
State Controller Betty Yee says revenues can’t defy gravity forever, and we should expect peaks and valleys in the states financial performance.
Gov. Brown is scheduled to release his revised 2016-2017 budget proposal on Friday in Sacramento.
