FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — A man has died after being hit by a car in Fresno County early Wednesday morning.
The California Highway Patrol says it happened on Jensen near Del Rey.
Officers say a 45-year-old man was walking east on Jensen, possibly in the road, when he was hit by a Toyota Avalon.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
Officers say the driver of the Avalon continued going east and left the scene. The car is believed to have severe damage on the right side.
Anyone who sees the vehicle is asked to call the CHP.
Officers do not believe speed was a factor.
The man has not been identified.
Roads were closed in the area for the investigation but have since reopened.
