‘Celebrations And Festivals Around Merced County’ Exhibit On Display

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — A new exhibit is now on display at the Merced County Courthouse.

It’s called “Celebrations and Festivals around Merced County.”

Out of 120 events across the county, 65 were chosen to be featured in the exhibit.

Those include the Los Banos Veterans Day parade and “Lights on the Lake” at Lake McClure.

The celebrations are on display until August 31.

That’s when the county will begin preparing for its next historic display.

“We are so excited about our next exhibit,” says Sara Lim, Merced County Courthouse director. “The next exhibit, which will open October 4, will celebrate the 150th anniversary of this old courthouse.”

The upcoming exhibit is called “Old Courthouse: 150 years, 150 stories.”

It will feature stories about the courthouse dating back to when it was built in 1875.

Renovations are still taking place at the courthouse, but are expected to be completed before the exhibit opens October 1.

In the meantime, you can visit the courthouse museum for free on Wednesdays through Sundays from 1 pm to 4 pm.
