Back in 2023, 39-year-old Paul Fierro was shot and killed near Lansing Way and Glenn Avenue. That’s a neighborhood near Blackstone and Dakota Avenues.

Police say there was an argument that led to Rocha pulling out a shotgun and shooting Fierro.

Fierro was lying in the road with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died.

Police say Rocha quickly left Fresno after the incident.

Officers say numerous tips and follow-up interviews led them to San Antonio. Casto said after more tips, Rocha left for the Waco area.

Police say Rocha had family members who lived in Texas and used fake IDs to work in the area and hide from authorities.

Rocha will be moved to the Fresno County Jail.
