Madera Planned Parenthood Closes Due To Federal Funding Cuts

MADERA, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — A Planned Parenthood facility in Madera has been forced to close due to federal funding cuts.

A sign was posted on the door entrance at Almond and Emily Way.

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte says it’s one of five locations closing in the state.

It comes after Congress passed the Trump Administration’s spending bill.

The legislation prohibits Medicaid reimbursements of more than $800,000 to non-profits federally designated as “essential community health providers” who provide abortions.
