FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — You have the opportunity to take action and help a local non-profit while also doing some end-of-summer cleaning.
The Fresno Mission Thrift Store is asking for donations after back-to-back fires in July.
They lost about $120,000 worth of items that would normally be put out to sell.
Fresno Mission Thrift is looking for certain items in particular, such as clothing, accessories, shoes, purses, books and household items.
Store officials say the Fresno Mission is dependent on the money generated at the thrift store to help provide the community with shelter, food and addiction recovery resources.
“The donations are kind of our livelihood, and so they’re able to come out for sale on the floor,” says Fresno Mission CFO Sherri White. “We kind of pride ourselves of always having new product every day for customers to choose from.”
If you’d like to donate, you can drive up to their location on Sierra near Blackstone.
They have an attendant who can help you unload from 10 am until 7 pm.
They also have a new second location on First and Bullard where you can walk in and drop off your items.
