FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — A one-time Fresno resident is under arrest after a fiery crash at a San Jose post office on Sunday. Postal inspectors are now investigating the incident as an “intentional act,” caused by Richard Tillman.
“It will, of course, be determined in a court of law whether or not it was. But, it does not look like an accident so far,” said United States Postal Inspector Matthew Norfleet.

Richard is the younger brother of Pat Tillman, the late NFL star turned Army Ranger who died in Afghanistan in a friendly-fire incident.

Public records show Richard’s ties to the Valley, including at least two known addresses in North Fresno.
Documents obtained by Action News reveal Richard had several warrants and is wanted by police after Fresno prosecutors charged him with misdemeanor trespassing, domestic violence and DUI.
On social media pages, now taken down, Richard spoke freely.
In a video just last week, he said he would take down the whole system, the United States and the world government.
Richard’s brother, Kevin, addressed the videos head-on in a statement, writing:
“To be clear, it’s no secret that Richard has been battling severe mental health issues for many years. He has been livestreaming, what I’ll call, his altered self on social media for anyone to witness. Unfortunately, securing the proper care and support for him has proven incredibly difficult – or rather, impossible. As a result, none of this is as shocking as it should be.”
