Suspects Wanted In Failed Robbery Of Fresno Jewelry Store

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ/KFSN) — Police are searching for the suspects involved in a failed robbery of a northeast Fresno jewelry store.

Officers responded just before 5:30 p.m. Friday to Alquds Jewelry on Cedar and Herndon for a report of a car into the building.

Investigators say three armed suspects rammed a stolen car into the front of the store but were blocked by the closed gates.

A person who worked at a nearby business saw the trio and spotted the weapons.

“Once that individual observed the firearms, he opened fire. There was another vehicle that was on scene that those suspects then entered,” Fresno Police Lieutenant Henry Garcia says.

The suspects then fled the scene.

Officials say nothing was stolen from the store and no injuries have been reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
