YOLO COUNTY, CA (KMJ) At least seven people remain unaccounted for after a massive explosion at a fireworks facility in northern California.
The blast followed a fire inside the facility in the rural town of Esparto, west of Sacramento.
Cal Fire said Wednesday the explosions and fire that followed caused nearby evacuations and power outages.
It began with a call of a structure fire just before 6pm Tuesday. Flames ignited the fireworks which lead to several explosions.

At least two homes and several vehicles nearby were damaged. A grass fire also broke out.
First responders are working with the property owner to search for possible victims.
Gov. Gavin Newsom’s press office issued a statement: “Our office is closely tracking the fire and explosion in Yolo County. @CAL_FIRE and @Cal_OES have deployed air and ground resources,” the governor’s office said in a social media post. “The State Fire Marshal has sent an arson and bomb investigation team, and stands ready to provide additional support as needed.”
