Fresno Co. Sheriff’s Dept. Breaks Ground on Memorial

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Construction has officially started on the Fresno County Sheriff’s Memorial.

It’s meant to honor the lives of all employees who have died in the line of duty.

The one-of-a-kind memorial is located at the new metro substation, at Armstrong and Belmont Avenues.

KMJ’s Ray Appleton was joined by former Sheriffs Mims and Magarian to discuss the need for the memorial.

The project is expected to include a memorial donor garden, a waterfall “wall of honor,” with sheriff’s stars paying tribute to fallen deputies and an eternal flame.

You can learn more about the memorial or donate to the project on their website.
