FRESNO, CA (KMJ) In an exclusive interview Thursday with KMJ’s Ray Appleton, Major League Baseball legend Steve Garvey said he’s not surprised that he’s quickly climbing in the polls in the contentious race for US Senate.
A new poll released this week from Politico shows Garvey trailing only Rep. Adam Schiff (D) 28% – 19%.
The former Dodgers and Padres all-star, who describes himself as a moderate republican, discussed a number of topics including the illegal immigration crisis at the US/Mexico border, President Biden’s mental acuity and crime in California.
“There’s no bad time to do the right thing”, Garvey told Appleton when asked why at the age of 75, he’s running for Senate. Listen here, cue up to :20:
