Two Fresno Residents Killed in Crash Near Outlets at Tejon, 4 Others Hurt

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX/KMJ) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the two people killed in a single car crash on Interstate 5 over the Grapevine on April 9 as 19-year-old Tania Ajanae Oliver and 21-year-old Isaiah Dieago Zamarripa, both from Fresno.

The Kern County Fire Department said on Sunday, April 9, at around 2:45 a.m., crews were called to a report of a crash on northbound Interstate 5 and Laval Road near the Outlets at Tejon.

When first responders arrived, they found six people had been ejected from the lone vehicle involved in the crash.

The California Highway Patrol said the driver and five passengers were from Fresno.

Two people, Tania Ajanae Oliver and Isaiah Dieago Zamarripa, died.

The other four were taken to Kern Medical with life-threatening injuries.

A medical helicopter was called out to the scene to airlift some of the people involved in the crash.

CHP said the cause of the crash is under investigation. Officials said it is unknown if intoxication and/or impairment played a role in this crash.
