The woman who was found deceased in the front yard of a Fresno home on Thursday has been identified as 44 year old Amanda Berry.
The cause of her death has not been determined, however, Fresno County Sheriff homicide detectives say her injuries “were not consistent with a natural death”.
At 7:15 am Thursday, dispatchers received a call of an unconscious woman on a piece of property located near the southeast corner of McKinley and Temperance Avenues in Fresno. Deputies arrived and attempted CPR, but she would later be declared deceased.
Homicide detectives and members of our Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and began collecting evidence and conducting interviews with people on the property and nearby neighbors. The circumstances and motive of the victim’s death remain unclear.
This is the 22nd homicide investigation for the FCSO in 2022.
