MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KMJ) — A man who tried to prevent witnesses from testifying is now facing 82 years to life for sexual crimes against children in Los Banos.
According to the Merced County DA’s office, Gerardo Ruiz sexually abused a family member under 10 years of age back in 2017.
Based on court documents, Ruiz tried to prevent the victim and the family from reporting the incident.
He was found guilty of multiple charges related to the crime and is scheduled to be sentenced on November 29, 2022.
