Fresno Mayor’s Second Citywide Community Clean-UP Day on Saturday

FRESNO, CA- Mayor Jerry Dyer’s second Citywide Community CleanUP Day will take place tomorrow morning with more than 1,000 volunteers taking part in cleanup projects across the city. Volunteers have either registered to volunteer at one of four organized hub locations or have chosen their own location of special importance to them to clean, whether by themselves or in groups ranging in size up to 50 people. Beautify Fresno will provide all the cleanup materials for the event, which volunteers may keep to use whenever they want. All cleanup events will take place simultaneously from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m.

The four hub cleanup locations are:

  1. Downtown Fresno – co-hosted by the Downtown Fresno Partnership

The event will clean up the Mural District area around the Cultural Arts District Park bordered by Divisadero, H Street, Tuolumne, and M Street

  1. West Fresno – co-hosted by Hidden Wealth Foundation

The event will clean up Jaswant Singh Khalra Neighborhood Park and surrounding business center

  1. Central Fresno – hosted by Beautify Fresno
    The event will clean up the Blackstone Corridor between Shields and Ashlan Avenues.
  1. Southeast Fresno – co-hosted by Southeast Fresno Community Economic Development Association (SEFCEDA)

The event will clean up the neighborhoods around Kings Canyon and Chestnut Avenues.

At the conclusion of the events tomorrow morning, volunteers are invited to attend a “Thank You After Party” celebration in the parking lot at Manchester Center at the corner of Blackstone and Shields till 1:00 p.m. The after party will include free food trucks, music and activities. Later that night, participants can attend “Beautify Fresno Night” with the Fresno Grizzlies at Chukchansi Park.
