Man Wanted For Trying To Rob Kwik Serve Clerk At Gunpoint In Merced

(KMJ) — The Merced Police Department say they are looking for a man who tried to rob a gas station clerk at gunpoint Saturday Night at the Kwik Serve gas station near R Street and West 12th Street in Merced.

Police responded to the gas station for an attempted robbery and learned that the suspect walked into the store and pointed a gun at the clerk, telling him to hand over the money that was in the register.

According to police, the suspect then ran away from the store when the clerk refused to give him any money.

Officers searched around the area but could not find the man who was said to be a Hispanic male that was around 5’8”, heavy set, and possibly in his 30’s.

The clerk said the suspect was wearing all black clothes and a pair of red shoes.

Police were able to obtain photos of the suspect from security footage.
