(KMJ) — A traffic stop by Porterville Police led them to discover over 1,700 lbs. of illegal fireworks on Tuesday.
Officer say they pulled over, 50 year old Anthony Rodriguez, near Plano St. and Vandalia Ave and found him to be under the influence.
Detectives at another location, also found more illegal fireworks adding to the hundreds of dangerous fireworks already found.
The Porterville Police Department takes the opportunity to remind the public of the dangers illegal fireworks can have on people and starting potential fires. Those who are found with these fireworks can face criminal charges and up to $10,000 in fines.
Rodriguez was booked into the Tulare County Jail on charges related to the crime.
