
(KMJ) — Over 100 citations were issued and dozens of vehicles impounded following a recent crackdown on cruising and side-shows in Fresno.
According to police, the crackdown happened on Easter Sunday and eight side-show events were broken up throughout the city.
One side-show, involved spectators who threatened officers with violence just before 11 p.m. at Blackstone and Nees.
Police say those who spectate such events are just as guilty as those who participate in them.
Throughout Easter Sunday, 177 citations were issued, nine people were arrested for driving without a license or driving with a suspended license, and one was arrested for DUI.
Officers added 57 vehicles were impounded, 40 vehicles will be held for the next 30 days, and one gun was recovered during the crackdown.
