(KMJ) – An employee of the Imagination Playhouse daycare in Visalia is now behind bars, accused of abusing a one-year-old girl.
This all began after officers and emergency crews were called to the business on 3300 block of West Sunnyside Avenue just before 3 p.m. Friday.
Here are the details, as released by Visalia Police:
The Visalia Police Department responded to Kaweah Health and were informed by doctors that the juvenile sustained
non accidental injuries. The infant was in critical condition and was airlifted to Valley Children’s Hospital.
The Violent Crimes Unit was asked to take over the investigation. After executing a search warrant at the Imagination
Playhouse daycare and conducting numerous interviews, detectives learned that the infant sustained her injuries while
at the daycare and under the care of Amanda Taylor. It was also learned that Taylor was the only adult who had contact
with the victim during that time frame.
The Violent Crimes Unit obtained a no bail arrest warrant for Amanda Taylor. Taylor was arrested without incident and booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility.
The Violent Crimes Unit asks that anyone with additional information about this incident or parents whose children
experienced suspicious injuries while in the care of Imagination Playhouse contact Detective Andrew Saelee at (559) 713-4576. Those wishing to remain Anonymous can contact the Anonymous Tip Line at (559) 734-5302.
