Kings County Woman Pleads Guilty to Stealing $87,000 in Social Security Benefits

KINGS COUNTY, CA (KMJ) – A Kings County Woman Pleads Guilty to Stealing $87,000 in Social Security Benefits

Court documents show 58-year-old Deborah Rossoni’s father passed away in July of 2012.

She did not notify Social Security of his death.

The agency continued direct depositing payments into his bank account until July 2018.

Rossoni transferred the payments into her own bank accounts and then used the money for personal expenditures, including credit card bills and house repairs.

Rossoni agreed to pay full restitution to the Social Security Administration,

She’s scheduled to be sentenced February 14, 2022.

She faces a maximum statutory penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
