(KMJ) – South Valley Fire Officials are asking you to be selective if you wish to assist in the battle against a pair of wildfires.

Although donations are appreciated, the Tulare County Fire Department says unsolicited donations to firefighters battling the KNP Complex Fire and Windy Fire are not needed at this time.

“Despite best intentions, unsolicited donations items are not needed at this time and can unintentionally overwhelm relief locations, especially when donating food,” said Tulare County Fire Department.

The fire department says they truly appreciate the outpouring of support to those battling the fires within the state.

Instead, anyone interested in donating items is encouraged to either call 2-1-1 or text FIRETC to 41444.
