Clovis Unified Marks Third Anniversary of the Loss of Beloved Educator

 

(KMJ) – A special dedication ceremony will be held Thursday, September 16th to mark the anniversary of the death of beloved Clovis Unified educator Gavin Gladding.

Here are the details, as shared by the District in a news release:

On the third anniversary of the loss of a much-admired Clovis Unified educator, students, staff and family members of Gavin Gladding will come together to dedicate a gathering area at Fort Washington Elementary School in his honor. At the time of his death in a hit and run accident, Gladding was the vice principal of Fort Washington Elementary, where he was beloved by students and colleagues for his positive attitude about life and his focus on improving the world around him, one act of kindness at a time.  Gladding, a former teacher, school administrator and Peace Corp member, will be honored with the dedication of a seating area at the school this Thursday, September 16.

WHAT: An outdoor ribbon cutting ceremony on a student gathering area dedicated to Gavin Gladding 

WHEN: September 16, 2021, at 2:30 p.m.

WHERE: Fort Washington Elementary School, immediately to the north of the school library

Clovis Unified adds COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place for this dedication event.
