(KMJ) – The Merced City Fire Department says masks donated by Girl Scouts helped save the lives of two pets from a burning home Thursday morning.
According to Merced City Fire, firefighters were called to a burning house around 8:30 a.m. on the 1000 block of West 14th Street. Firefighters say no injuries were reported, but one dog named Oreo and a cat named Sassafras were pulled from the home.
That’s when donated pet masks from Girl Scout Troop 3003 came into play and saved their lives.
