OROVILLE, CA — A murder investigation is underway after a 20-year-old man was found dead at a Lake Oroville campground over the busy 4th of July weekend, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
Tyler Dickson was found dead inside a tent at the Bidwell Marina Campground around 5 Saturday morning, according to sheriff’s spokesperson Megan McMann.
Deputies responded to the area after the sheriff’s office received a 911 call reporting that a man at the campground was injured.
Dickson, who is from San Pablo in Contra Costa County, was pronounced dead once medical personnel arrived on the scene. Investigators collected evidence which indicates that he was murdered, according to the sheriff’s office.
