Magnitude 3.7 Quake Recorded Wednesday Near Mendota, CA

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (KMJ) — The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a 3.7 magnitude quake hit west of Mendota Wednesday afternoon.

The USGS says the quake hit around 1:18 p.m. and was centered about 16 miles south of Dos Palos and 18 miles west of Mendota.

In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.

Wednesday’s earthquake occurred 21 miles from Los Banos, 32 miles from Madera, 34 miles from Chowchilla and 34 miles from Merced.

There have been no reports of damage.
