Three Escaped Valley Jail Inmates Captured; Three Still Sought

(KMJ) – The Merced County Sheriff’s Office says three of the six inmates who escaped from its main jail facility over the weekend are now back behind bars.

Sheriff Vern Warnke says Edgar Ventura was caught Tuesday near Firebaugh.  And, Tuesday Night, Fabian Cruz Roman and Andres Rodriquez were captured in the San Diego area.  But, three other inmates remain on the run.

They are identified as:

Jorge Barron – 20-years-old, Hispanic Male Adult, 5’05” 140 lbs, Black Hair, Brown Eyes, from Atwater. Current Charges – violation of probation

Gabriel Francis Coronado – 19-years-old, Hispanic Male Adult, 5’10”, 225 lbs, Black Hair, Brown Eyes, from Atwater. Current Charges – attempted murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, participation in a criminal street gang, felon in possession of a firearm, violation of probation.

Manuel Allen Leon –  21-years-old, Hispanic Male Adult, 5’10” 165 lbs, Black Hair, Brown Eyes, from Vallejo.  Current Charges – assault with a firearm, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, evade peace officer – reckless driving, participation in a criminal street gang, carrying a loaded firearm

A TIP LINE has been set up by the U.S. Marshals Service and a reward of up to $5,000 per escapee is being offered for any information leading to the apprehension of these inmates.
