President Donald Trump on Saturday afternoon posted a pair of tweets, in all-capital letters, to express his demands he, not Democrat challenger Joe Biden, had won the presidential election.
Trump tweeted in all caps:
“THE OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED INTO THE COUNTING ROOMS. I WON THE ELECTION, GOT 71,000,000 LEGAL VOTES. BAD THINGS HAPPENED WHICH OUR OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO SEE. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. MILLIONS OF MAIL-IN BALLOTS WERE SENT TO PEOPLE WHO NEVER ASKED FOR THEM!”
Twitter has added a disclaimer to the president’s tweet, saying the claim of election fraud is disputed.
He followed up that tweet with another message, declaring he got:
“71,000,000 Legal Votes. The most EVER for a sitting President!”
The tweets come after most networks declared Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris, as the winners of a hard-fought campaign for the White House.
Trump earlier in the day said in a statement, Biden had not been certified as the winner in any state and his campaign Monday “will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated.”
CNN was the first to call the race for Biden, followed by the Associated Press, Fox News, and The New York Times, after a victory in Pennsylvania put Biden at over the 270 electoral college votes needed to secure the victory.
Newsmax has not called the race for Biden, stating:
“The election remains very close and Pres. Trump continues to contest results in several states. All votes should be counted. The media should not make the determination of the winner under these circumstances.”
