(KMJ) – Fresno County has started relocating animals evacuated due to the Creek Fire

Small animals at the temporary shelter at Granite Ridge Intermediate School are now being transferred to the Fresno Fairgrounds Small Animal Shelter. And the County is also relocating livestock from the Clovis Rodeo Grounds to the Fairgrounds Livestock shelter.  These moves are necessary to consolidate animal care resources to a single location.

The relocation of small animals is expected to be completed today and relocation of the livestock from  the Clovis Rodeo Grounds by Friday.

All pet and livestock owners affected by the relocation have been notified directly of the move and provided direction on how to visit and/or retrieve their small animals via Gate 4a and livestock via gate 2 at the Fairgrounds. Owners may also locate their small animals and livestock by calling Central California Animal Disaster Team at 888-402-2238.

At this time, Fresno County says no additional volunteers or resources are needed to help with the relocation or provide care for these sheltered animals.
