FRESNO, CA, Tuesday, September 15, 2020 – Fresno County has started the process of relocating small animals evacuated due to the Creek Fire from the temporary shelter at Granite Ridge Intermediate School to the Fresno Fairgrounds Small Animal Shelter.

The County is also relocating livestock from the Clovis Rodeo Grounds to the Fresno Fairgrounds Livestock shelter, consolidating animal care resources to a single location.

In partnership with Fresno Humane Animal Services, small animals are being moved safely to the Fairgrounds Commerce building to help consolidate services and resources, with relocation of the small animals expected to be completed by Wednesday, September 16th and relocation of the livestock from the Clovis Rodeo Grounds by Friday, September 19th.

All pet and livestock owners affected by the relocation have been notified directly of the move and provided direction on how to visit and/or retrieve their small animals via Gate 4a and livestock via gate 2 at the Fairgrounds.

Owners may also locate their small animals and livestock by calling Central California Animal Disaster Team at 888-402-2238.

At this time, no additional volunteers or resources are needed to help with the relocation or provide care for sheltered animals.

Those interested in signing up for future volunteer opportunities or donating for future needs may do so online at www.CCADT.org.
