No Charges Filed Over Clash at Visalia Black Lives Matter Protest

(KMJ) – The Tulare County District Attorney’s Office says no charges will be filed following an incident between protesters and a driver that was caught on camera in Visalia.

Back in May, video captured a Jeep that appeared to hit two women at a Black Lives Matter protest on Mooney Boulevard.

Wednesday, District Attorney Tim Ward announced after investigating, he has decided no charges will be filed.

After reviewing 23 separate videos of the incident, prosecutors found that the driver had hit his brakes and there wasn’t enough evidence to prove he intentionally tried to hit the women.

Prosecutors found that the driver of the Jeep started to move forward as traffic cleared the intersection, making contact with a woman standing near the left front bumper.

“According to current law, it is a misdemeanor offense to intentionally and maliciously impede traffic. Though her conduct is criminal in nature, given the totality of the circumstances no charges will be filed stemming from this incident.”
