Detectives Hope Surveillance Video Helps Track Down Valley Driver

(KMJ) – Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Detectives release surveillance video in the hopes of tracking down a driver who may have encountered a 30-year old man stuck and killed in Kingsburg.

Just after midnight on May 11th, Kingsburg Police responded to calls of a body lying in the road near the intersection of East Clarkson and 12th Avenues.  That man was later identified as 30-year old Gary Banks.  Investigators say he was struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene.  And Banks died as a result of his injuries.

The case was then turned over to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.  And its investigators say around 11:30 p.m. May 10th, a surveillance camera captured an image of Banks standing on Clarkson Ave., near 10th Ave. As you can see from the video link below, a car is seen approaching, Banks falls to the ground, the driver of the car hits their brakes, swerves around Banks and then continues on their way.

Detectives would now like to speak with this driver.  And anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Freddie Henson at (559) 600-8208 or Valley Crime Stoppers (559) 498-7867 (STOP) or via www.valleycrimestoppers.org.
