COVID-19: Tulare County Passes the 1000 Mark, Fresno County Touts Tracer Program

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Tulare County has passed the 1000 mark in COVID-19 cases.

Here in the San Joaquin Valley there are more than 2300 positive cases.

Tulare County Health Dept. reported 1013, and another person died of COVID-19,  the death toll now 44, with 155 people recovering.

The county’s health department is urging residents to wear masks.

Fresno County, the other hot spot, reported 28 new cases Friday up to 841, with 307 recoveries, and 9 deaths.

 

Interim Heath Director, Dr. Rais Vohra said an online academy is being offered through the State of California to train people to become tracers.

Kings County is at 244 cases – 35 recoveries, one person died.

Merced County reported 157 positive cases, 91 recoveries, and 3 deaths.

As of 5/8/2020 at 4:00 p.m. Madera County reported four confirmed positive COVID-19 cases, up to 66. In addition 2 individuals have been removed from isolation. Their status has changed from active to recovered for a total of 39.

Mariposa County still had 15 cases, and 12 recoveries.
