Central Valley’s First COVID 19 Death – A Madera Man in His 60’s

 

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Madera County is reporting its first death as a result of the coronavirus.

The man, in his 60’s, got COVID-19 through person-to-person contact.

The Madera County Department of Public Health says the man suffered from underlying health conditions and passed away at Madera Community Hospital.

He had tested positive for COVID-19 on March 23rd.

Madera County has 10 cases.

Three new cases were confirmed on Thursday. March 26, 2020.

Merced County health officials say there are now 4 confirmed cases. Three are under the age of 40.
The new cases are under investigation.

The Fresno County Health Dept saw a jump from 19 on Wednesday to 27 on Thursday. 14 were travel related, 3 person-to-person, 3 community spread and 7 were under investigation.

Tulare County currently has 20 COVID 19 cases.

Kern County is seeing 4 more cases for a total of 33.

Kings and Mariposa Counties are both reporting no confirmed cases, but testing is underway.

California reports 16 new cases bringing total confirmed cases to 3,910 and 80 total deaths, with 912 new cases and 15 new deaths reported on Thursday, March 26, 2020.
