Two New Coronavirus Cases Reported in the Central Valley

(KMJ) – Two Central Valley counties are reporting new cases of the coronavirus.

The Fresno County Department of Public Health says its third case of  COVID-19 is travel-related case and was not community acquired. Health officials add this individual is doing well and is isolating and recovering at home.

And Tulare County Public Health officials also confirm another positive test for the coronavirus; its fifth confirmed case of COVID-19.   Officials say this fifth patient is over age 65 and is believed to contracted the virus via person-to-person direct contact.

Those withing Tulare County’s public health office have now begun their investigation into this new case, but they add no new contacts have been identified.

All Central Valley Health Officials continue to recommend the following measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, influenza and other respiratory viruses:

• Wash your hands
• Avoid touching your face
• Stay at home if you are sick
• Cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow
