Power’s Back on for 14,589 PG&E Customers After Outage Friday

RESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Power is back on for more than 14,000 Pacific Gas & Electric customers.

Spokesman Denny Boyles said, “At 7:39 we experienced a substation-level outage affecting 14,589 customers in Merced. We have crews in the area investigating the cause of the outage, and we are working to restore customers safely and as quickly as possible.”

Boyles said they confirmed two separate car versus pole accidents in the area, one of which is being investigated as the cause of this outage.

He said the second accident “was on a distribution pole and is not related.”

Boyles said they did not have an estimated time for restoration but later sent the following email:

“All customers have been restored. Customers were restored between 9:59 and 10:11 a.m. I’m still waiting on determination of cause,” said Boyles.
