FBI: CA Has Highest Number Of Hate Crimes

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — 15 percent of the country’s hate crimes were reported in the Golden State during 2018

A new FBI report shows that there were at least 1,063 such crimes in California last year, 88 of which were in the Central Valley.

Investigators say ancestry, race and ethnicity are the top reasons, followed by religion, gender identity and disabilities.

However, the data isn’t complete, as not every law enforcement agency participates in the FBI’s annual survey.
