(KMJ) – The California Highway Patrol calls in the Fresno County Sheriff’s helicopter to assist in an uncommon rescue in the High Sierra on Tuesday.
The CHP’s helicopter was called in airlift a hiker (who has yet to be identified) near Mammoth Lakes at approximately 10,00 feet, after he hurt his ankle. But that aircraft did not have enough room for the hiker’s two large, white dogs. So, the Sheriff’s Eagle One chopper was called in to help.
Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputies loaded up the dogs and dodged Sierra thunderstorms to fly the pets back to their owner who was receiving treatment at Edison Lake.
