Gas Prices Continue to Fall Ahead of Tax Increase

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Just ahead of a looming tax increase, gas prices are posting small declines.

Here in Fresno, gas is now averaging $3.74 a gallon, down from $3.78 last week.

However, on Monday, California’s fuel tax will rise by 5.6 cents, to a more than 47 cents a gallon.

The demand for gas is up substantially, as a record number of Californians plan to the hit the road for the 4th of July.
